I've been close to the guys at Motobase for around 2 years now and what they have managed to create is nothing short of incredible for our industry. Their platform enables users to register bike ownership, facilitate ownership transfers and report stolen dirt bikes.
Their primary goal is to combat theft and the illicit resale of stolen dirt bikes within the motocross community. Historically, UK police forces seize stolen dirt bikes, but have lacked a means to determine from where the bike was stolen. The MOTOBASE team now bridges this gap by assisting the police in reuniting stolen bikes with their rightful owners.

Think of it as a registry with a completely FREE HPI check. If you are in the market to sell your bike consider this, you have a bike for sale online and you are approached by someone who wishes to part exchange another dirtbike. How do you know if this bike is stolen or legit? simple answer is, you don't until the actual owner approaches you at a practice day a few weeks later and s**t hits the fan!
I personally know if this happening!
If your bike is stolen, Motobase app gives you the tools to mark it as stolen. If the thieves try to part exchange your bike with another private seller or a dealer, the VIN will flag up as registered stolen, giving you what you need to refuse the deal and report it to the police.
This is a completely FREE service that can be utilised by anyone, especially motorcycle dealers. Head over to their website to check out what they have to offer. They also have some cool merch which helps spread the word.

Motobase also offer a secure event booking system with the aim to keep stolen bikes away from the tracks. Here's a quote from their website. "Simplify off-road event engagement with Motobase's secure mobile platform. Organisers create events and share direct links for members. Riders register bikes once for safety and accountability. We allow easy browsing of events, booking efficiency, and class selection. See all broadcast events to find races from other clubs. Motobase connects the community for safe, accessible event booking."
All in all, as a rider part of our community, why wouldn't you take advantage of this insane offer and use it to its full potential. Tell your friends. Tell the guy down the local motorcycle shop. Spread the word and together we can stomp out the cockroaches in our community.
